Afshin Mahmoudi, Scientist at Celgene since 2001 and has a MS in Genetic from University of Iowa. Prior to Celgene he was a research scientist at Targetted Genetics, University of Washington and University of Iowa. Scientific Advisor at SalExt Bio. Has been key member of the IALSN board since 2006
Dr. Babakhani, has 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and diagnostic laboratory management. She was a key contributor to the microbiological development of recently approved Fidaxomicin antibiotic and contributed to pre-clinical development of other anti-infectives. Her contributions have led to several peer-reviewed publications and patent authorships. Dr. Babakhani has also managed a diagnostic clinical microbiology lab. She serves as IALSN's Scientific Officer
Neda Safarzadeh is Director, Head of Investor Relations, PR & Marketing at Arcturus Therapeutics. Prior to Arcturus, Neda's expertise in the RNA drug formulation as a Senior Scientist at Nitto Denko, lead to U.S. Patent. Appl. No.: 61/657,480 (2012)--Lipids for therapeutic agent delivery formulations--having developed targeted RNA therapeutic nanoparticles for Liver Fibrosis. Her education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
Dr. Morey Setareh is a Director of North American Sales and Business development at ThermoFisher focus on proteomics. He received his B.S and Masters from Northern Arizona University in immunology and microbiology and his Ph.D in 1993 in Immunology from University of Arizona. In 1993 he moved to San Diego where he started his first post-Doctoral fellowship at UCSD in the area of autoimmunity and in 1995 he began his second postdoc at Scripps and became a senior scientist in the department of molecular and experimental medicine focusing on Osteoarthritis. He has thought at San Diego city college and in 1999 he joined Endogen as a technical sales specialist in Immunoassay. During the Endogen acquisition by PerBio as a regional sales manager he was instrumental in starting a commercial team for Pierce Biotechnology. Since 2005, he has been the director of sales for protein analysis commercial and business development team with ThermoFisher. In his role he established inside sales team, field sales force, field application specialists, business development mangers as well as large volume and custom services team. Vahid Naini, Pharm. D. is a pharmaceutical professional with over 18 years of broad ranging experience within the pharmaceutical industry in areas of Medical Affairs, Medical Safety, and Clinical Research & Development. Dr. Naini has been part of the successful NDA filings and approval of two novel drugs in men with prostate cancer since joining Janssen Pharmaceuticals in 2010. He has been involved with IALSN since 2006.
