Program Sales Manager Category: Sales/Marketing Type: Description: This individual as part of our Discovery Services will have overall responsibility for effective positioning, sales, and marketing of existing and new products, as well as a newly launched program. Establish unit and currency forecasts and budget; and achieve forecasted profitability for the company's offerings. Develop and implement an annual plan which includes objectives, strategies and tactics. Coordinate all product-related activities with R&D, sales, legal, manufacturing, finance, advertising and customer service functions. Monitor and ensure that all contributing parties accomplish agreed upon activities in a timely manner. Focus on the development of marketing support and educational materials; initiate and develop product brochures, advertisements, and promotional programs; and provide product training and strategy orientation to other team members. Develop and implement the reimbursement plan for the company's new products. Evaluate potential new products; promotional programs; new ad campaigns, packaging and pricing changes; assess trends including market growth, market share, competing technologies and regulatory issues; and make recommendations to senior management. Attend select meetings to provide market feedback and keep abreast of new technologies/products. This position will be based in San Diego, CA. Requirements: Minimum BS in scientific discipline, plus the knowledge and skills typically acquired through a minimum of three to five years' relevant industry and sales experience. MS and MBA a plus. Strong background in successful application and implementation of products and services for drug discovery and development needs of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Proven experience in the development and implementation of sales and marketing programs. Proven track record of having launched new products/services followed by successful field implementation. Must have the ability to effectively lead and facilitate cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels in the organization, as well as vendors, ad agencies, and consultants.
